Midwest Food Recovery Summit

The first ever Midwest Food Recovery Summit will be taking place on September 6-8, 2017 in downtown Des Moines, Iowa.

The summit will welcome hundreds of food waste and food recovery advocates in an effort to provide the education, insight and connections needed to help ensure food is used as a resource and does not become waste. Throughout the summit, participants will be able to attend keynotes and breakout sessions to learn more about what is being done by others in their industry to reduce food waste and what the future holds. This includes an opening keynote featuring Tom Vilsack, known for his role as Iowa governor, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, and now president and CEO of the U.S. Dairy Export Council.

The summit will focus on all types of food waste, from businesses like grocery stores and food manufacturers to organizations that accept donations like food banks and food pantries.

Early bird registration is open for attendees and exhibitors until June 30 when prices will increase. The event is being hosted by the Iowa Waste Reduction Center at the University of Northern Iowa, in partnership with BioCycle.

No matter what area you focus on this technique will help teams be on the same page, discuss cross-functional issues, and work together towards improvement.

Learn from several peers with different experiences and perspectives during our presentations, Q&A, and networking - what has worked and what hasn’t so you can successfully apply process mapping.
