Take the University of Minnesota exit
(number 235B) and follow Huron Boulevard. Turn left on Washington
Avenue SE. Proceed two blocks to Oak Street SE. Turn right
onto Oak Street SE. The McNamara Alumni Center is on the left.
From the north, heading south on 35W
Take Exit #18, 4th St.-University Ave. Cross 4th St. SE; turn left on University Ave.
From the south, heading north on 35W
From 35W heading North, exit Washington Ave. Follow Washington Ave. to Oak St. take a left.
Parking Options
Meters Near McNamara Alumni Center
- On
Oak Street SE (two hour limit). Meters are located on the
west side of the street.
- On
Walnut Street SE (two hour limit). From the Alumni Center
go south on Oak Street SE to Washington Avenue SE. Turn
right on Washington Avenue SE and proceed one block to Walnut
Street SE. Turn right on Walnut Street SE. Meters are located
on the east side of the street.
- On
Beacon Street SE (two hour limit). From the Alumni Center
go south on Oak Street SE to Beacon Street SE. Turn left
on Beacon Street SE. Meters are located on the south side
of the street.
Parking Ramps/Lot Near McNamara Alumni
Center
- University
Avenue Parking Ramp (hourly rate): Directly behind
MnTAP offices, connected by underground tunnel. From the Alumni
Center, go north on Oak Street SE to 4th Street SE. Turn left on
4th Street SE and proceed one block to 18th Avenue SE. Turn left
on 18th Avenue SE and go to University Avenue SE. Turn left on
University Avenue SE and proceed a 1/2 block. Ramp is on the right.
- Washington
Avenue Parking Ramp (hourly rate): From the Alumni Center,
go south on Oak Street SE to Washington Avenue SE. Turn
right on Washington Avenue SE and go to Harvard Street SE.
Turn right on Harvard Street SE (road makes a sharp left
turn and becomes Beacon Street) and proceed to Union Street
SE. Turn left on Union Street SE. Ramp is on the left.
- 4th
Street Parking Ramp (hourly rate): From the Alumni Center,
go north on Oak Street SE to 4th Street SE. Turn left on
4th Street SE and proceed to 17th Avenue SE and turn right.
Ramp is on the left.
- Huron
Boulevard Parking Complex (daily rate): From the Alumni
Center, go north on Oak Street SE to University Avenue SE.
Turn right on University Avenue SE and follow it to Huron
Boulevard. Turn left on Huron Boulevard. Parking complex
is on the right.
Bus
- From
Downtown Minneapolis: Get on a #16 or #50 MTC bus
(buses run on 4th Street). Get off at the corner of Oak
Street SE and Washington Avenue SE. Walk one block north
to the McNamara
Alumni Center.
- From
Downtown Minneapolis: Get on a #6 MTC bus (buses
run on Hennepin Avenue). Get off at the corner of Oak Street
SE and University Avenue SE. Walk one block south to the McNamara Alumni
Center.
- From
Downtown St. Paul: Get on a #16 or #50 MTC bus (buses depart
from 4th Street and Minnesota Street). Get off at the corner
of Oak Street SE and Washington Avenue SE. Walk one block
north to the McNamara
Alumni Center.
