Mick understands the challenges of the
industry. Many of the concerns facing the industry he faced
himself working construction and operating heavy equipment
in environmental contracting.
While Mick can answer
many questions over the phone, visiting companies
helps him to reinforce cost saving waste reduction techniques.
Sometimes an inexpensive trip to the hardware store can save
hundreds of dollars a year. Something as simple as a 10 dollar
squeegee and dustpan can notably reduce the amount of spill
cleanup supplies used.
Mick has process heat efficiency and other comprehensive energy management training. Mick's current responsibility assisting the metal casting industry has positioned him well to help improve energy use in the industry. The smallest energy improvement in foundries or die casting will mean big savings at today's energy prices.
Because of his experience
in the environmental field in Minnesota, Mick understands
the burdens of regulatory compliance. He knows how difficult
it can be for smaller businesses to understand and comply
with regulations. Because of that, Mick is dedicated to making
information more clear.
Mick says that the
collective expertise of MnTAP creates an atmosphere where
solving complex problems through waste reduction is possible.
Mick adds that environmental management has come a long way
in twenty years, and his experience with diverse issues is
something clients should take advantage of.
